 Why have I chosen to do music for my silver arts award challenge?

I have chosen music because I have always enjoyed creating my own compositions, writing songs and playing instruments.

I have a natural ear for music and I can easily find the best sounding harmonies for all of my original songs.

I am a fast learner and can easily pick up difficult musical techniques and use them when producing songs or even playing covers.

My goal is to write, record and produce an original song and create my own music based YouTube channel where I can post my own compositions and covers.

Below you will find my self evaluation and my action plan for achieving the Silver Art Award.

                               

               Strengths            

•  I find writing songs very enjoyable and I spend a good deal of my time writing down lyrics and playing instruments. 

• I have a very creative mind and use my great imagination to come up with catchy tunes and lyrics when writing a song.

• I have a brilliant ear for music and I can easily find the best sounding harmonies, cords and instruments to play in the song.

• I can easily understand and pick up difficult techniques and learn how to use them when producing a song.                                                       

• I have a natural talent in music and art and I find it very easy to sit down with an instrument and play whatever comes into mind.

• I have a great memory for all the many songs that I have written, and whenever I need to remember a melody that I have written in the past, I can swiftly recall all the tunes, lyrics and cords that I need.

                                        Weaknesses

• After coming up with a melody and writing down the lyrics for a song, I am never truly motivated to go on to the next stages of producing the songs and I just tend to keep them as simple first draft recordings.

• I can get so easily distracted with other things that I find it very difficult to stick with the project that I have already started.

• I am a true perfectionist and I will abandon my work if I am not satisfied with how it is coming along.

• I become very impatient when the visions in my head are not precisely realized and don't go exactly to plan.

• I like to keep control over my work and find it hard to collaborate with others. 

• I often tend to procrastinate and spend to much time planning rather than beginning my work and find it difficult to maintain motivation over the projects that I am working on.

I plan on producing my own original song and creating a music video for it.

I also hope to create my very own music based YouTube channel where I can post all of my original compositions and covers.

I'm planning on performing my song live, and also posting a song that I will produce myself on the Garageband app as it has a very different recording style compared to the studio.
